Struggling Being A College Momma.

Well, that was a fail! 

The start of summer I told myself to blog more & do so much more things in my life..

And no. I didn't do one thing that I wanted.

It's been.. 3/4 months since I've blogged (OOPS!)

I honestly forget to blog, or I'm just too busy.

But anyway.

Im currently in 3rd year in college (I know, I didn't think I would be a 3rd year LOL!)

It's the last year of my course, which means

WORK, WORK, WORK!!!!

AHHHHH!

And with being a full-time college momma, It's very hard to find time to myself!

When i'm at home, I'm constantly thinking of what I've to do for college the next day or next week.

And when I'm in college, All I want to do is go home & see my little pumpkin! (SADFACE!)

With Kayden being 2, He's starting to notice that I'm going more often & it kills me.

But I do get a BIG hello when i come back!

It's crazy to think that, this time next year, I could be graduating.. and have a degree as a graphic designer!!!

I'm trying to work my butt off with all the briefs, but it can be exhausting. I literally have about 4 weeks to get 5 briefs done. :( 

which includes a draft of a dissertation.... YIKES!

And I'm here, blogging LOL!

I'm not sure what I am going to do when college is over, it's kinda like my safety net! 

There is an add-on year.. but honestly the thoughts of another year in college!!!

But, i'll see when the time comes.

My weekday routine is basically;

Wake up at an annoyingly early hour (Still dark outside)

Make my face look half decent.. Especially when I'm up at all hours.

Wake Kayden up, & get him changed and dressed.

Drop him off to be minded.

Go to college for the day.

Come home, pick up Kayden.

Make dinner (If I'm not tired enough..)

Give Kayden a bath, and dressed for bed.

Give Kayden his Supper..

& put him to bed.

And thats when I put myself to bed.

And I repeat that the next day. Its exhausting!

but there is time where he stays in his daddy's house.. which can help but I'm still exhausted!

And with ALL that, I try and get as much college work as I can, to try and be ahead of things.. but at the moment... Im WAY behind LOL!

It's hard to blog, look after a crazy toddler and be a college student all at once.

When I do get time to myself, I really do make the most of it and do 

NOTHING!! lol.

But yeah, thats basically me right now.

I'm either tired, cranky, stressed or happy.

but it will be all worth it in the end.

I'M BACK!

Hey Guys!

I'm Back!! :)

It's been such a long time since I blogged last. 

I got caught up with college a lot this semester! between all the briefs - we didn't really get a break.

But since we are coming to the end of this semester of college, I'm now heading into my Summer Break :) YAY!!

I'm currently on a two week easter break, I then have four days to prep my end of year portfolio, and submit it.. and then its the waiting game for the results :( !!

I must say, college this semester has been stressful! It's been hard for personal reasons, I've had a major change and still adjusting. But hopefully by september everything will get back to normal!

The college briefs this semester have actually been fun. ALOT OF HARD WORK, but the end result is great!

I've made my first animation (Not as good as i hoped) 

no excuses but that its done!

I designed an App (Not published on android, just did the design.)

and a few small others that were group work and project design.

My Animation was close to my heart! (Soppy Aisling)

As soon as they mentioned it to us, i knew straight away what i wanted to do.

I had different ideas how to make it but as soon as i went at it, it got harder to make!

So, I painted. I painted every single little thing in the animation and my god i was sick of it!

And then, I had to photograph (while Kayden was running around at some point)

The animation is based of the circle of life. The mother is singing the song to her child as he grows up, he leaves to live his life and returns with his own child, the mother, now a grandmother then sings to the newborn.

RELATIONSHIP AFTER A BABY!!

Hey Guys!!

It's been a while since i've blogged.. College is catching up on me again! Only three weeks left and i'm on my holidays :) YAY!

So i thought i'd do a 'Relationship After A Baby' blog..

It took a while to get Pietro to come around to the idea of this blog... and we had no idea on what questions to ask ourselves!

But here goes...

Q1. How do you think our relationship is after having Kayden?

Pietro: I don't know.. I don't think we have changed really. We still get along great, but we can get under each others skin, we are around each other nearly everyday, and we know how to annoy eachother.. We are defiantly stronger than before, like as a couple! we still have fun, like were serious.. but not serious if you get me? 

Aisling: Well, i think we have got to be closer than before.. like the process of having a baby together, that we made... we bonded over it and no-one can take that away from us (bit soppy!!) we have more fun, defiantly with a baby as wired as Kayden! keeps us on our toes.

Q2. Do you get in fights on how to raise Kayden?

Pietro: No usually we agree on most stuff.. if it came up in the conversation either one of us would agree. its hard to explain, but we have the same idea on how to raise him.

Aisling: I wouldn't say fight.. like disagreements but we rarely have them.. and if we do, it wouldn't be about Kayden :)

Q3. What's the main topic that you disagree or agree on the most?

Aisling: We usually disagree on money, like if i wanted to go shopping.. Pietro would say no, i dont need clothes etc etc LOL like i get time to go shopping.. i online shop ;) HAH!! We agree on nearly everything.. not being fake, we just don't take things to heart, which is a good thing in a relationship!!!

Pietro: I actually can't remember anything we agree or disagree on.. its so little at the time that it just slips my mind LOL!

Q4. What's the plans for the future?

Aisling: Moving out of my parents house... probably wont happen anytime soon, but it will eventually! finish college, (Year and a half left!!!) maybe get more qualifications, would love to do makeup and photography! also maybe set up a little job in photography.

Pietro: Also move out.. maybe get a better job, one that will allow me to spend more time with kayden and that had good pay.. more money is always good!! LOL

Halloween Design Party!!

Hey Guys!

It's Nearly Halloween!! YAY!

As any artist/designer knows... it's dress up time!!!

So, as every year, the design department in college have a design party, where everyone dresses up and goes on a big session!

Last year was a little bit of a fail, so this year we were expecting high hopes.

And, everyone that was in the making of the party pulled it off! it was a success.

Everyone dressed up, some scary, funny, casual etc.

It was touch and go with myself going to the party, about half an hour before hand i made the last decision to go, Which meant... half an hour to do makeup and props.. AHHH!!

I decided to go as a "Doll" i went as one before and it was the easy way out of it, but didn't have much planned! I rushed & rushed.. and finally got everything together and it was time to leave..

As living in Tullamore and having to travel to Athlone.. It was hurry, hurry, hurry.

When I arrived, Our class all gathered at our friend's apartment, We had pre-drinks, laughs and gossips and then headed to the main party.

The pictures taken on the night was hideous, so please excuse the messiness! LOL

The picture above is myself & a good friend. Her costume was amazing, she went as a pin-up girl, which a bullet hole in her head.. her slogan for the night was "This bullet-hole was where i was pinned up..." Lol. 

The party was held in Charlie Browns. A pub across from A.I.T!

The crowds were amazing, and everyone was very sociable..

After we heading to town.. where the rest of the night was deadly.

If i could do it again, i would prepare my costume so much better, everyone looked amazing!

I honestly cant wait for next year's design party!

Review & Weaning Off Formula.

Hey Guys!

So in my last blog I mentioned I purchased Amber Beads for Kayden.

It's been about about a week or that!

Well, first of all, I'm actually loving them on Kayden. He looks Super Cute! he has that surfer baby going on!! LOL!

I'm not sure if I have noticed a big different in his teething, he still isn't sleeping through the night!

But during the day he is much happier and full of life when he is wearing them, he teeth are still annoying him, poor baby! 

But the good thing is that I haven't been used pain killers until night-time!

His tooth has broken through fully, I haven't noticed the other tooth as he wont let me near his mouth to check, thats usually when i know he is teething. he will eat fine but as soon as you put your finger to his mouth, he wont let you!

But yeah, So far so good!! I'm loving the style and i'd say i will actually know if they are helping or not :)

So, Myself & Pietro have decided that it's time to wean Kayden off formula fully. He loves his bottles, and his formula but he also gets full fat cows milk as well and i've noticed he will drink it better at night.

We have one tub of formula left and its nearly empty so thats when we are going to stop, we are not stopping cold-turkey.

We have been weaning him off for a few months now, we started weaning when he turned one.

First we started taking a scoop of formula out of the actually bottle so say it was 8oz water, we would put 7 scoops of formula... and so on...

Right now we are at 8oz water and only one scoop. sometimes more if i feel like he needs it.

So right now he only gets his bottles at night time. currently two bottles and he usually drinks one during his sleep (Dream Feed).

He gets juice, water and milk during the day.

Its going great so far.

When he is completely weaned i want him to be started on almond milk, i've heard good things about this milk for toddlers so hopefully it agrees with him and it goes well!!

College, Briefs and the Hardship.

Hey Guys!

For the past... four weeks now, I've started back at college. 

Passed all my exams so start into second year which is a complete shock to me. Never thought i would get into first year, never mind second.

My course is a level 7, Design communications.

Basically Graphic Design.

My modules for this semester would consist of Design History, Business Management, Design Technology, Photography/Printmaking/Media and Design communications.

As its coming up to halloween break, everything is piling in on top of each other, and it can be very very stressful. 

Our briefs are quite simple, but very "tasky" (You need to be a Adobe Nerd,

and i'm simply not that!!!)

Our first brief was to design a "Urban Fashion Logo"

(simple i know)

BUT!!!!

the name was "SKY RAT"

yuk, i know!! 

But thankfully we could change the name so i decided on "URBAN GURU"

This was my first idea, black spray paint in the background and font over. so then I live traced it. and of course the lecturer didn't like the trace and i was pretty fond of it!

so eventually, i was able to impress him with my fabulous talents in illustrater (LOL)

& came up with my final logo. I still have a problem with picking between the two.

But anyway, college work this year is so much harder with Kayden. he's running around everywhere now, getting up to every sort of mischief!!! So, i have a content eye on him now. Even though he is amazing at playing with his toys all by himslef, he still wants me to play along with him most of the time. So now I Usually have to leave college work until he is asleep which is about half 9, and mostly my college work could take a few hours.

Sometimes, I will ask Pietro, or if i'm very stuck in college work I will ask my Mam to mind him for an hour, but thats rarely!

It's getting harder to get up early in the morning to go to college, and i'm very tired coming back home. I'm usually in college from 10-6. or an hour in difference.

During the week, i only get to spend some hours with Kayden before he heads to bed! and i hate it!!! I miss summer where i had all the time to cuddle and play. but college has to be done so i'm sticking though it. (hopefully)

I've a book brief as well, but i haven't made any progress, so i'll post it when it comes along nicely :)
