Emilee's 2 month update

Can I just take a minute to acknowledge that Emilee is TWO months old!! TWO MONTHS?!
where has the time gone :(

AGE: 8 weeks

WEIGHT: 12 pounds! She's a big Girl :)

HEIGHT: 54cm, she's grown 4cm since birth!

SLEEPING: sleeps for 4 hours at a time, sometimes will go a little longer at nighttime. Night feds are starting to get exhausting, its just starting to hit me now LOL

TEETH: No teeth! Thank god ;)

PLAYING: Is starting to notice Mobile thingy (Not sure what its called) but starting to coo and gas at the little toys!!

PERSONALITY: Emilee's personality is definitely starting to show, she's such a happy baby! Loves the attention and whats to be talked too all day! She loves to be sat up and looking whats around her, will only lie down for napping! loves to stick out her tongue! She will smile if you kiss her on her mouth!

CURRENT CLOTHING SIZE: So now she's completely out of newborn clothes (Some vests still fit her) Still getting wear out of some Up To One Month clothes, But mainly in 0-3month clothes!

DIAPER SIZE: In size 2 nappies! still has a good bit of room for them!

WORDS: Coo'ing like crazy! Trying her hardest to talk back at you!

RECENT MILESTONES: Starting smiling at around 6 weeks at my voice but now is smiling ear to ear seeing mammy, daddy and kayden! Smiled at her Auntie Sinead last week! Sinead was delighted! She has also found her hands! Mad into trying to suck her fingers or thumbs! She will follow anything you put in front of her :)

She has a appointment next week for her two month injections and I'm honestly terrified for her! I hate them so much, and to see her cry is going to kill me :(

She's doing great and I'm so blessed to have a happy and healthy baba :)

*Isn't her top so cute! All the way from Australia*

3weeks postpartum

I can't believe Emilee is nearly three weeks old already!
Isn't that crazy?!

I might just add, That Emilee is pronounced Emily. I just changed the spelling to be different ;)

So this coming Wednesday Emilee will be three weeks old, and honestly it feel like she's been here way longer!!!
She is still 50cm long, Same from birth.
And is now weighting 9pounds!!!!

Which is great, as I'm breastfeeding and its just a good feeling to know she's getting enough milk from me.
I am topping her up with formula but she seems to be getting enough from me mostly and i just have to top her up before we go to bed.

She feeds every 2-4hours.
Still fits most newborn clothes, but 'Up to 1 month' gives more room and seems nicely fitted!!

In size 2 nappies :) Size 1 do fit but leaves marks on her chubby thighs ;)

She searches for Kayden when he's talking! It so cute :)

With my recovery, I'm feeling great! I do tend to need a nap during the day (As I'm up with night feeds :P)

Im currently down 10kg in weight! Which I think the Breastfeeding is helping with that too. As i didn't gain any weight during the pregnancy, I'm actually losing pre-pregnancy weight!

Im so thirsty during the day, that I'm pretty sure I'm drinking even more than the daily amount.
With my diabetes, I haven't been checking my bloods but then again I haven't eaten any sugar (Apart from a Jam Doughnut that I've been craving for months!)
But I will need to retest in September/October!

Im still in maternity jeans/leggings! As I've no clothes what so ever! So il need to get a new wardrobe soon :D!

Kaydens adjustment to being a big brother has gone so smoothly! He literally clicked into his new role! Absolutely loves Emilee!

Always wanting to hold her and kiss her, which is great :) !! He is still learning to be careful around her though.. Which is understandable as he is only two (Three next week) and he doesn't quite understand!

Pietro had two weeks off so with me doing night feeds, he would get up with Kayden in the morning and let me sleep abit longer. But with him going back to work today! Ill be getting up with both babies, so i am expecting to be a bit more tired and lazy for a week or two!

But yeah, everything is going good :) Im so happy to be in my own place enjoying my babies :)
Emilee will grow up so fast that I'm trying to take in the newborn stage as much as i can!

My Induction Story!

As today mark's my due date..
Im over the moon to say Emilee Grace made her grand appearance on the 8th July, at 13:41pm. Weighting 8pounds 3oz!

I know many won't really care about my birth story, but to me it's such an experience that I don't want to forget what happened, so blogging my story will let me read over and over as many times as i want ;)

At my 38 week hospital appointment, the doctor told me they were going to induce me due to having pregnancy diabetes. I was told I would be induced at 39weeks but they never gave me a date at that appointment, they told me that I would find out at my next hospital appointment, which was the 8th july... and to me it seemed a bit too late to be induced if I was meant to be at 39weeks.

So I rang the office and asked if I was given a date or was it even written down, the doctor than rang me back a few hours later saying I would be brought in on the 7th July at 8am to be induced.

So the morning of 7th July, myself & Pietro headed to the hospital to be induced. Not knowing what to expect. I was very nervous, I didn't know how the induction would go or how long/short it would be!

I was then brought into a room to be examined and for the midwives to check the baby, take blood, insert an cannula. Then was brought into the labour ward to wait for the doctor to come in and talk to us. He explained how the induction would work. It turned out that i was already 2cm dilated but he couldn't break my waters (TMI) so i was given gel to help soften and dilate a bit more.

They left me for 6hours. which surprisingly went very fast!! I was then brought back into the labour ward, but didn't progress so I was given gel again and told they would see me at 11pm that night :(

In that time, I was getting mild contractions which were getting stronger. I was able to breathe through each one and sometimes talk! I was praying they were doing something anyway!

So 11pm came. they put me on a monitor to see if i was getting contractions and to check baby's heartbeat. On the monitor you could clearly see I was getting contractions... but they weren't regular!! :( which meant I was in false labour pretty much!!

Around 12am Pietro went home to rest while I of course had to stay in the hospital. I could barely rest due to the contractions. Thankfully I fell asleep about 5am but then was woken up at half 7 to go back to the labour ward to get examined again.

And SUCCESS!! I was 3.5cm and they could break my waters!! They basically said to me that the contractions I am getting is only the gel trying to work, that if they break my waters.. it could send me into active labour or could do nothing at all and I would have to be put on a drip to kick start it.

Well, as soon as I walked out of that room (around 9am) that contraction hit hard! I paced up and down my room breathing through the pain. Decided to ring Pietro about half 9 to tell him to come in to me, explaining what was happening.

Pietro arrived just after ten, in the meantime I was a little vocal through my contractions! As soon as Pietro arrive I told him to get someone because I needed something for the pain.

The midwife came in and seen I was a bit distressed, and asked if I wanted to know were the contractions doing anything. I said yes and found out I was dilated to a 4!!!!

Another midwife came in and said she has a room ready for us to make our way to the delivery room.

The contractions were about 2-3 minutes apart and I was defiantly vocal (Pietro said you could only hear me if you were in the room with us, but to me I seemed louder LOL) !!

I was given gas and air.. Which I didn't like at all! I was very dizzy after each contraction and it just didn't seem to work. The midwife knew I wanted the epidural so in process of moving rooms and settling in she rang for the epidural.

The doctor came to do the epidural around 11am. It took a very long while. I think I had about 5 contractions from start to finish! after it was done, I felt relief straight away (THANK GOD!!)

So about half 11, my midwife went on her lunch and another midwife took over from her. We were laughing around and just basically waiting for things to progress!
Half 12 she came back from her lunch and the rest of the midwives went on break.

I was starting to feel some amount of pressure in my bum, which was hurting me. the nurse upped my epidural and examined me.. I was 7cm!! I couldn't believe it!

I told Pietro that she will definitely be here by 3pm!

The midwife messed with me telling me that I was not to have a baby while everyone else was on lunch haha! as she was minding the other woman in labour for the other midwives.

A little after 1, I was breathing through the contraction and had such an intense feeling to push. It was so intense that I was basically pushing but trying not to!! I told Pietro to get the midwife that I need to push, she came running in.. examined me and I was 9cm! I told her that I really needed to push, she then explained that I had a bit of cervix there that a few more contraction then I will be ready.

literally one contraction later.. I was ready to push!

skipping the gory bit.. ten minutes later...

Emilee Grace came into the world at 13:41pm :)
I cried my heart out seeing her! It was such an intense feeling and emotion that its a bit of a blur!

We did skin to skin for about an hour, and I breastfed her in which she latched on really well :)!!

Near to 3pm we were then transferred into the antenatal ward where we would spend the next two nights there!!!

So, with the midwife telling me I wasn't allowed to give birth while the others were on lunch, Emilee was just born as they were coming back. I only had one midwife and Pietro in the room while giving birth. I was meant to have a student midwife but she didn't make it!

The whole experience was amazing! I was in active labour for about 4 hours!! Pushed for ten minutes! and my recovery is going great!
After the epidural I was up and walking 2 hours after.

I am currently breastfeeding Emilee, which is going good! She's doing amazing and Im so in love with her!! her going home weight was 7pounds 14oz.

I'm so happy to be home, in my own bed!! It's going to take a little while to get used to day to day life again :) haha! My Iron is low so I've no energy and night feeds have me wrecked anyways! So I'm resting and taking my time with tasks, and just enjoying being a mommy of two :)

Kayden is so in love with Emilee. He's constantly checking on her, asking if she's okay! Wanting to hold and cuddle her, kissing her! Hes just an amazing big brother :)

Bumpdate - How i'm feeling!!

Guess who's finally "Full Term" ??
ME!!

Ahh can't believe I'm 37weeks! (well 37 weeks and 4 days.. the 4 days count LOL) Which basically means the baby can come any day now!
Scary but SO exciting!

With every twinge or pain, My thoughts are "Is this it? Is this labour?" Haha!
Im going crazy with just waiting around, I know the baby will come when its ready but OMG I want to meet this baby NOW! Like i'm seriously about to write a eviction notice ;)

So I thought i'd do something different than my usual Bump Update and just write how I'm feeling just off the top of my head!

Being so heavily pregnant is not the most glamorous look you can be LOL, I'm just at the stage where I want to be in loose airy clothes, no make-up and hair up in a bun and just lounge all day!

I'm usually at home most of the time, my energy levels are so low and its so hard to walk up and down the stairs LOL! I'm really feeling the weight of the baby this week, and with that its hard to walk or stand for long periods of time. I had the same thing with Kayden and he was 8 pounds. So I'm really expecting this baby to be a big baba aswell!

I've actually lost a lot of weight. Im lighter than I was pre-pregnancy weight! Which I was so surprised because I'm always hungry haha!

My belly has grown so much in the last week! Which my back is feeling all of it! And I've also got myself a little "Waddle" haha! So embarrassing but hey, it comes with being pregnant so I'm just going to embrace it ;)

Sleeping is so hard lately! I can barely turn in the bed (Myself and my mam had a little giggle about it) Im constantly getting up for bathroom breaks!
But a huge thing is that my feet are just constantly roasting? Its so weird! Like they are so warm ALL the time that i can't even wear socks! Walking on the tiles is the only relief i have haha!

Kayden is a gem for me lately! He knows the baby is coming soon, and none stop asking questions about the baby! He is just the easiest toddler right now and I'm so grateful for that! All he does is ask for something and I do it for him (If I can manage)
Of course he has his moments where he whinges and cries but he gets over it fast!

Cravings are not as extreme! I do have the sweet cravings that I can't have!
but a new one is the feeling of brushing my teeth? and taste of the toothpaste haha.

But yeah, My bags are completely packed and ready to go!
Im running out of patience and just about being done with being pregnant LOL!
But so thankful that I've made it to 37 weeks. With all the things that happened during this pregnancy, all I wanted was to make it to 37weeks and yay we've done it :D!

I've no idea if this baby will come early or not, My GP thinks I won't make it to 40 weeks! but you never know!

I was 4/5 days over with Kayden! So I'm pretty sure il be over again :)
Well? if everything goes well with the scan tomorrow! which il talk about next week :)

35 week bumpdate!

How far along? 35 weeks & 3 days :D
Weight Gain: Pretty much haven't gained anything this pregnancy. I'm putting it all down to the diabetes, My weight is levelling out really. I'd loss a pound or two but the next week I would gain it back. The doctor really isn't concerned as the baby is growing and has a good heart beat.
Maternity clothes: NOT looking forward to when the hot weather comes in.. (I say 'when' as its Ireland and we never know when the sun will be out haha) I'm loving the cool rainy weather as I'm already warm just wearing a tee and trackies. Im doomed for hot weather haha
Stretch marks? Found a new one just starting, Its at the spot where the baby kicks the most :)
Sleep: Nope. None. Nada. :'(
Best moment this week: Im ashamed to say... Home and away is back on TV :D Haha!
Miss anything? Lying down without being struck hard with heartburn LOL! Its so bad lately, especially during night-time. Im living on rennies!!!
Any movement? Baby movement have slowed down a bit! I feel more stretches rather than kicks! I do think the baby has started to engage as I feel so much pressure, the movements are around my belly button instead of near my ribs lately! and I can feel hiccups right above my pubic bone!
Cravings: Vicks & firelighters!!!! Vicks give me more of a relax feeling when i smell it (WEIRD) but its something I need to smell at night? I really can't explain it because it sounds so weird haha! I've also wanted cheerios and chocolate sponge cake with choc frosting &
I CANT HAVE IT :( :(
sickness? Im feeling a little nausea lately for some reason. I assume its just my body getting ready for the birth. But the gagging is back at some foods or even just out of no where. I could cough and gag after? But i haven't physically got sick!
Gender: We will know in 5 weeks :D:D
Labour Signs: I'm in so much pain :( Just even walking, I can feel the baby so so so low! I think my belly has dropped, or even just the baby because i've noticed the baby isn't propping its butt out above my belly button. I can push my hand where it used to be and feel the baby lower, much lower! Ive been cramping a lot lately, but nothing to be worried about!
Symptoms: Heartburn, as usual LOL
Belly button in or out? In!
Happy or moody most of the time: Ahhh, a bit hormonal I have to say. Ive gotten to the point of just wanting to meet this baby!!! even thought i've nothing ready for the baby!!
Looking forward to: getting everything ready and set for the baby! I've really dragged it on at this stage so time to get my butt in action and sort out the house and my bags :) Things are moving quickly and i'm sure the next 5 weeks are going to fly :)

I'm not looking forward to next week though! Pietro is away for work and I'm just praying this baby stays put until he's back LOL!
We also have a big scan in two weeks that will determine if i have to be introduced or not. So it could turn out that this baby will be here in the next two weeks or everything will be fine and the baby will come when its ready :) I'm a bit of a nervous wreck at the moment!
Also the diabetes seems to be going okay, I don't need to go back to the diabetics clinic until I'm 39 weeks!! :)

AND I finally got a return date to go to the hospital, Honestly this pregnancy, the hospital has screwed up so much!! they are all over the place! but at least i'll see my pumpkin soon :)

Planning for my hospital bag..

When I was packing my hospital bag when I was pregnant with Kayden, I was given a little list from the hospital to buy.. But this time around I didn't get a list so I'm basically just remembering what I needed and what I didn't need. Plus Pietro can always run and get anything I really need at the time!

I set a date to have my bag packed by the time I hit 35/36weeks, since I've just turned 34weeks... I need to get my stuff together haha!

We were told from early on that this baby will be small, but the last few week I really think the baby has caught up to it's proper size, and due to having diabetes, babies can be on the big size so I brought everything in 0-3 months just incase.

I think from around 20 weeks, I just started picking up random things along the way instead of buying everything in a bulk. I thought this would be easier on the 'pocket'.

I have mainly been shopping between Tesco, Pennys, Boots, H&M as they are the closest shops to me.

So far I have picked up mainly everything for the baby and not quite for me as I'm not pushed to shop for myself just yet as my belly will be getting bigger.. yikes!

As for the baby i have got;

5 'Up to one month' grey baby vests. Brought in Tesco! Loving grey these days!!
(Missing one vest due to taking it to college for a project)

3 Muslin clothes. Bought in penny's. Need to get a few more but I think I might wait until I know the gender ;)

0-3 month size baby vests. I bought a few vests this time around as I couldn't resist the design. I'm a big lover of elephants!!!

Cute elephant design on one of the baby vests! So adorable!!

Picked this little cutie up in Tesco! Kayden had a similar hat with ears so I had to buy one for this baby :)

This little cutie is a four piece outfit.. Sleepsuit, Baby vest, baby hat and bib. This will probably most likely be the first outfit the baby will wear :)

Detail on the bib.

And the back of the outfit where you can see the bib, vest and hat! cute or what :D?

This little outfit was brought by my sister for the hospital, Its so adorable. Im only planning on bringing these two outfits to the hospital. As once we know its a boy or girl, Pietro will run down to the shop to buy some pink or blue outfits for the hospital :) The mistake I made with Kayden was that I brought 10 neutral outfits and all I wanted to do was put him in blue to show off that I had a boy. So I know I will want to do the same this time around :) Plus it saves room ;)

And then I brought a few things for me. Even thought I have a lot more to buy!

Two nursing bra's as i'm planning on trying to breastfeed. Kayden and breastfeeding wasn't that successful so I know not to get my hopes up. A friend of mine has given me some advice to follow up and research breastfeeding as she is pretty much a pro at this stage ;). So i'm currently reading a book that I got in eason's. And I will also be bringing that book along to the hospital :)

Another good friend gave me so many water wipes as she won a competition and I am over the moon with them :) They are very expensive but great for the hospital as newborn skin is very sensitive and you would mostly use water to wipe them. Ive also brought cotton balls to clean the cord!

And finally, for my toiletries; Shampoo & conditioner, Dry shampoo, Body wash, Deodorant and facial wipes. I got all travel size in boots. Just a few things for freshening up and I will also be bringing my makeup bag just incase I feel like looking half decent ;)

I've also stocked up in nappies so I have plenty to do the baby for a few months :)
Ive also purchased breast pads and maternity pads (the not so pleasant side of giving birth LOL)

More things I need to get for the baby;

  • scratch proof mittens
  • baby socks
  • baby cardigan
  • travel size baby wash/shampoo
  • hooded towel
More things I need for myself;
  • Nightdress to deliver baby in
  • Maternity dressing gown
  • maternity pj's x2
  • nursing tank tops
  • undies and socks
  • beach towel
And of course Pietro will come to the rescue if I need anything else ;)

I'm planning on packing two bags... Labour bag and after labour bag.

So the Labour bag will be packed with just things we will need during labour.. Such as nightdress, dressing gown, socks, undies, baby outfit, baby vest, nappies, hat and toiletries.
and of course, camera, snacks, drinks, and clothes for Pietro incase it's another long labour :)
(Probally have forgotten most things)

And then the after labour will be mostly filled with the rest of the items.
I'm planning on doing this because I want to carry light. So when I go into Labour I will only grab the Labour bag out of the car and leave the after labour bag there. So when i'm moved to the anenatal ward, pietro will bring in the after labour bag and put the labour bag back in the car to send home to wash :)

Haha that sounds complicated!
But I just gives me more room in the ward and less things to bring home :)

Only 6 weeks left :D !!!

Thanks for reading!

Bump Update!

How far along? 31weeks and 3 days :)
Weight gain: Haven't weighted myself this week so il update next week ;)
Maternity clothes: I'm usually in hoodie and trackies by the end of the day, as all I want is comfort. So the maternity clothes are only worn when I want to look half decent (LOL)
Stretch marks? I think my old ones are starting to stretch again so they might become longer, but I'm at least remembering to moisturise before bedtime :)
Sleep: I can nap perfectly, but once its dark outside my body likes to reject sleep and becomes really anxious for some reason? I still toss and turn to get comfy and I have noticed that I am more tired theses days. Cant wait to just rest!!!
Best moment this week: Ask me next week HAHA! So stressed with college, trying to finish everything in one week is impossible, I'm even dreaming about what I've to do for the next day
:(
Miss anything? Not really...
Any movement? Tons! I can now feel the baby hiccup, which in fact it hiccups quite a lot!
Food cravings: No, I just want to eat what I smell?? Firelighters smell amazing!! and so does my sister's makeup remover! YUM! starting to crave the smell go Vick.. (Same as Kayden)
sickness? Nope :)!
Gender: Surprise :)
Labour signs: Starting to get braxton hicks contractions.. I never experienced them with Kayden. They are super uncomfortable and only last a few seconds! Ive a lot of pressure at the end of the day aswell!
Symptoms: HEARTBURN! Dam thing is so annoying :( can't even drink water...
Belly button in or out? In but getting close to popping!
Happy or moody most of the time: A bit moody, just due to being uncomfortable and sore most the time. My back is killing me and I can barely sleep!
Looking forward to: handing up all my college work at the end of year... I just want to get rid of it at this stage!!

Thanks for reading:)

The countdown is on :')

How far along? 30weeks :) Cant believe there is only 10 weeks left!! Its so crazy how fast this pregnancy is going!
Weight gain: Still no weight gain, but pretty sure these last ten weeks il pack on the pounds :)
Maternity clothes: Yes, wearing them all the time, feeling a bit huge these days :(
Stretch marks? No new ones as of what i can see anyways ;)
Sleep: Sleep has gone completely out the window theses day.. Im so uncomfortable at night time. Tossing and turning all night PLUS the bathroom trips!!! Ugh i just want comfort :P
Best moment this week: So last week, after all the stress from the doctors i was finally told the baby is going great :D Im in such relief and just so happy to hear that. Even my blood works came back normal! My diabetes is under control and they are happy with what I'm doing :) So far so good :) fingers crossed it stays that way!
Miss anything? SLEEP! :P
Any movement? So I've noticed this week, that I'm not getting kicked as much.. its more like  body movements than kicks. So i feel a random foot or hand.. Or even the baby turning! My belly goes crazy. I just love it :D
Food cravings: no food cravings.. but my smell is gone so crazy! everything smells so GOOD!! Ugh, a friend in college was cleaning and my god i wanted to drink the stuff, it smelt amazing!
sickness? Nope :)!
Gender: Haha, i might swell get rid of this since were leaving it a surprise :)
Labour signs: Nope, just feeling a ton of pressure. nothing to be concern about since it was the same with Kayden :)
Symptoms: my energy has seemed to of disappeared :( So tired, and napping doesn't help either! Heartburn is a major issue :( !!
Belly button in or out? In!
Happy or moody most of the time: A little stress from college but I'm usually in a good mood :)
Looking forward to: relaxing :) On the go with college work and I've only 3 weeks left :( I'm starting to get upset of the thought of leaving... :'(

Fingers crossed the next hospital appointment isn't going to be as dramatic as the last ;) Will update then :)

26week update!

How far along? 26weeks :) two more weeks and I'm in my third trimester :D !!
Baby is the size of an eggplant, 9inches long and around 2pounds.
Weight gain: Haven't put on any weight in two weeks, other than.2kg which isn't even a pound, little worried about weight gain as I feel I should be putting on more. Unless my body is waiting for the last trimester to pile them on ;) So its still at 13 pounds weight gain.
Maternity clothes: Guess who went maternity shopping yesterday :D! ME! New Look has lovely summer clothes at the moment. Got three tops and a nice pair of jeans :) Pretty chuffed with what i got.
I'm usually not the one to go for 'cliché' tops like 'hands of the bump' 'Pregos' but i couldn't resist this time around! might aswell take advantage of this bump while I can, I'm sure i'll miss it once its gone!!
Stretch marks? Ive noticed a few of my old ones are turning more redder :( so pretty sure its the start of them now. Not moisturing as much as i should be so I'm not trying my best to avoid them either!
Sleep: Its been a hard week of trying to get comfy, between bathroom breaks and dead legs i can hardly get comfy, but as soon as i drift of, I am out for the night! Starting to get harder to get up in the morning :( Kayden comes into my room as cheery as ever 'GOOD MORNING MAMMY' ..... my response ... '5 more minutes'  LOL! he's a gem in the morning, has no problem getting in beside me playing with his toys and reading his books, those extra minutes really do count ;)
Best moment this week: Nothing exciting this week, other than my easter break :) its so nice to be at home with Kayden and not having to worry about college the next day!
Miss anything? Not really, since I can go for naps with kayden and at home all day, its been a pretty well rested week :)
Any movement? This baby is strong LOL! More kicks over my belly button this week which could mean he/she has turned (Still a lot of time to do so anyway), My belly is starting to move with the kicks so I can actually see when he/she is kicking which is pretty cool :)
Food cravings: Not really, just if i see chocolate... i have to have it haha!
sickness? Still feeling nausea after showering, woke up this morning feeling a little ill, but i think I woke up to fast LOL :)
Gender: ;)
Labour signs: Nope!
Symptoms: Tiredness, low energy (Get so tired from cleaning the house lately) HEARTBURN!! my god its been crazy lately! I've been feeling pretty great other than that :)
Belly button in or out? In!
Happy or moody most of the time: Both!
Looking forward to: I've my scan tomorrow which I can't wait :) then just enjoying the rest of my easter!! As when i get back to college its going to be cray cray :(

BUMP UPDATE!

Deciding to do Bump updates every week, mostly for me to look back on and remember :)
Starting passed the half way line but sure its a start ;)

How far along? 24 weeks! It's going so fast!
Weight gain: This is a touchy subject as i am not the skinniest person out there, so I've decided just to tell what weight I've gained instead of my total weight.
So, in the beginning i wasn't gaining weight until i hit around 17-19 weeks. I was very sick, which meant i eat little, if not vomited it all up! so as from 8weeks-24weeks, I've gain 6kg which is 13 pounds!
Maternity clothes: I'm wearing maternity jeans and maternity leggings for about 4 weeks now. Still in normal tops and blouses. but I've popped in the last week so the maternity tops will be brought soon ;)
Stretch marks? Still no new ones! Moisturising when I remember LOL!
Sleep: Sleeping good, Tired all the time! can't get enough sleep!!
Best moment this week: Bringing Kayden to the St. Patricks parade in Navan. He had no idea what was going on, but he loved it :)
Miss anything? Drinking a cold glass of milk!!!!!
Any movement? Yes, tons!! This baby is VERY active! 6am the most. Wakes me up! its so heartwarming to feel them :) can't get enough!
Food cravings: Nope!
sickness? If i don't eat for a long time, but other than that no sickness :)
Gender: SURPRISE!
Labour signs: Nope!
Symptoms: i can sometimes feel leg/foot cramps coming but Ive been preventing them which is good :) Sore lower back at the end of the day! other than that i feel great :)
Belly button in or out? In, pretty sure it won't pop :P
Happy or moody most of the time: Haha, this week I've been mostly moody! especially to poor Pietro :)
Looking forward to: EASTER BREAK! one week left of college and then two weeks off :) :)

Worries, worries, worries!!!

When I first found out I was pregnant, I was a little worried about Kayden becoming a big brother...
Will he adjust to a new baby coming into his home?
Would he understand that he's not an only child anymore?
OR mostly.. Will he feel left out?

But as time went on, I seen how he acted with other kids, caring, sharing and always including them in his playtime. He's so good at just walking up to kids and becoming friends!!

He's always been included when it comes to the baby.. he sings, tells stories and kisses my belly so much! And even says "I love the baby" :)

My worries came to a stop when i realised that he will most likely be perfectly fine adapting to a new baby.

But then the question hit me.
Am i ready???

My attention is always on Kayden, He has my full attention.. when it comes to bathing, getting dressed, feeding, playing etc...
Im always there.

And I know that will change SO MUCH having a new baby to care for.

It's scary..
Im scared that Kayden will feel left out because I can't give him my full attention anymore!!
Its so hard to put into words on how much I worry about Kayden being left out or how he feels towards me not giving him my full attention!

Of course we will have our moments that i will make sure will happen!
We will still enjoy our crafts time.. painting, drawing etc
We still will cuddle on the couch watching TV or in bed in the morning.
and of course if he asks me for little things, i'll be there!

It's worrying to me, will I love this baby as much as I love kayden?
How could i love someone else as much as I love kayden?
It sounds so silly that i think about this.. LOL!

But hey! Its worrying becoming a momma for the second time :)
I want Kayden to still feel like he's loved as much as he is now when the baby comes!

I do plan on buying "A big brother" present, and the baby will be giving him a little gift too!
I'm looking forward for him to come see the baby for the first time, it's exciting!!
How will he react? Will he know it's his little brother or sister??

Im sure everything will work out, and all my worries will fade!
But as of now.. I need to work on preparing myself to be a momma of two!

What NOT to say to a pregnant woman!!

Since becoming pregnant, and the news coming out. I've had my fair share of unusual questions/comments thrown at me.

Some funny, but others that i wouldn't even dare ask haha!!

Number 1. Was it planned?/Was it meant to happen?
Hahahaha. Do you want to know the time and place as well??

Number 2. Do you need two plates? as you are feeding for two.
Nope. one plate will do. thanks!
Ive recently had a man ask if i needed two plates. I think he would of had a heart attack if I told him I wasn't pregnant! LOL

Number 3. Gosh! Two kids. you will have your hands full.
I'm pretty sure I will be fine with two kids LOL! Sure isn't parenthood just a breeze ;)

Number 4. I hope it's a girl!!!
This is pretty annoying. Just because I have a boy doesn't mean that I should have a girl! what would you say if it was a boy? Ahh you should try again for a girl. NOPE! Boy or Girl, I don't mind as long as its healthy :)

Number 5. How are you feeling?
This makes me laugh. I could either tell you I'm perfectly fine, feeling great. or tell you I feel sick most the time, I'm now a picky eater so I'm usually moody if i don't eat. Im pretty hormonal at times and i don't sleep at night :) but yes, I'm grand not a bother :)

Number 6. You should do this/that, try this/that.
When people feel the need to tell you what to use or do when your pregnant.

Number 7. You look really well.
Oh? So I didn't look well when i wasn't pregnant.....

Number 8. Are you gaining enough weight?
Ahhhhhh.

Number 9. Can I touch your bump/Touching of the belly...
Pet peeve!!! I barely let Pietro touch it, I'm hardly going to let everybody else touch it.
I usually scream in my head "GET YOUR HAND OF MY BUMP"
Fustrating.

Number 10. Any weird cravings?
I wouldn't say not ask this, its just that not everyone gets weird cravings like eating coal or smelling paper. But every pregnancy is different!

So yeah, this was pretty much of a little rant, Im pretty sure most woman experience this... or just me :) LOL

The News Is Out!!

So the news is out!!!!
YAY!

Im expecting my second child this summer! I couldn't be more excited to be a momma of two! its gunna be crazy LOL!

Kayden will soon turn 3 when the baby arrives, which i think is a good age to be promoted to big brother ;)!!

He doesn't truly understand, yet he knows mammy has a baby in her belly and he has seen the baby numerous of times at scans. He constantly says he loves the baby and rubs my belly, even kisses it saying goodnight (which melts my heart) but who knows, we will see once they meet if its true sibling love ;)

I am about 17 or 18 weeks along, my dates are all mixed up at the moment but should sort that out at my next hospital appointment. :)

We ARE NOT finding out the gender.. I prefer to leave it as a surprise but i have had times where i just want to know.

This pregnancy by far is completely different to Kayden's. I'm more sick, between morning sickness and general sicknesses (colds, coughs, fever) I seem to be a major target in that area haha.

Ive no cravings so far, just the odd time i'd prefer certain foods to others. Ive seem to gone of any kind of meat, but love salty or sour things. My sweet tooth has come on.. Wanting chocolate a lot! or even just need something sweet after a meal.

College is a bit tough at the moment due to me being sick constantly, but I'm praying that will change soon!! I still plan on graduating this october. With a bit of luck!!!!

Fingers crossed this sickness passes soon and i can carry on with my studies and prepare for baby number two! Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and congrats. It means a lot!
