TODDLER UPDATE!

Hey guys!

I was thinking of a blog post and thought to myself that i have done a toddler update in a very long time!

AGE: He is 1year & 10months as of today! another 2 months and he will be 2 :(

WEIGHT: Kayden was about 2 stone last month. Didn't get a chance to weight him this month yet.

HEIGHT: He is 33inches :) We actually got a wall sticker in Ikea that is a measuring chart! I love it! Great purchase!

SLEEPING: He sleeps straight through the night. Will go down after 9 and then will wake up around 9 also. If we are away for the day and he gets a late nap, he will go down later than usual but I wouldn't say he has a strict bedtime. Its usually around 9! And also he is in his own room which i think helps him sleep a lot better. as of recently he's nap time has been abandon a little, every now and again he does skip naps! which I'm going to find it hard to adjust as it is mammy time and i get most of the cleaning, washing and dinner done when he naps :(

TEETH: He has all his teeth apart from his four eye teeth, which i have noticed are just sitting above /below his gums, so in no time he will have them four! I was actually wondering when to bring him to the dentist as he does have a lot of teeth... I'm not sure though, he won't let the dentist go near him haha!

PLAYING: He very good at playing on his own when it is just him, but he also loves playing with other kids! Kayden is OBSESSED with football! like I mean obsessed. Its crazy how good he is at kicking the football and playing rugby for his age. There is no doubt he will be a sporty child, which means lots and lots of matches for Mammy & Daddy to go too :) 

PERSONALITY: Kayden is mostly a very happy toddler, but of course he has his tantrums and bursts of moodiness now and again. but it is easy to bring him away for the day or just stay at home! he loves his outings but is at that stage of not wanting to be in the buggy and wants to run around which is normal, but as a football fan he likes to dive onto the floor & it can get frustrating to get him to walk along side you! but I'm sure he will learn :)

CURRENT CLOTHING SIZE: He is currently in 1 1/2 year - 2 year clothing! he has a very narrow waist so most jeans/trousers might not fit him as well at his tops do! he is also outgrowing a size6 shoe!

DIAPER SIZE: Size 5/5+ at the moment.

WORDS: He will try to copy anything you say so i would say that his vocabulary is very good! i can't remember the words he says as there is many of them! but altogether he is good at talking and learning now to put words together such as "kick it" "Thank you" etc.. he can say please but will rarely say it lol!

RECENT MILESTONES: a bit TMI but he recently just figured out when he is going toilet, such as if he needs a "Poo" he will tell me! which is a great step to potty training! he understands you completely now, if you ask him to do something he will do it etc! Also i have introduced "Time Out" which is basically a corner that he stands in if he is acting up or not doing what is is told! basically we give him a warning first, and then if he doesn't listen, its timeout! Ive been trying to do a minute to his age, so its 1minute right now, and then i add a minute if it continues. After his time out Kayden will come over and say sorry with a hug a kiss and i remind him that It wasn't nice and thats why he went to time out.

I'M BACK!

Hey Guys!

I'm Back!! :)

It's been such a long time since I blogged last. 

I got caught up with college a lot this semester! between all the briefs - we didn't really get a break.

But since we are coming to the end of this semester of college, I'm now heading into my Summer Break :) YAY!!

I'm currently on a two week easter break, I then have four days to prep my end of year portfolio, and submit it.. and then its the waiting game for the results :( !!

I must say, college this semester has been stressful! It's been hard for personal reasons, I've had a major change and still adjusting. But hopefully by september everything will get back to normal!

The college briefs this semester have actually been fun. ALOT OF HARD WORK, but the end result is great!

I've made my first animation (Not as good as i hoped) 

no excuses but that its done!

I designed an App (Not published on android, just did the design.)

and a few small others that were group work and project design.

My Animation was close to my heart! (Soppy Aisling)

As soon as they mentioned it to us, i knew straight away what i wanted to do.

I had different ideas how to make it but as soon as i went at it, it got harder to make!

So, I painted. I painted every single little thing in the animation and my god i was sick of it!

And then, I had to photograph (while Kayden was running around at some point)

The animation is based of the circle of life. The mother is singing the song to her child as he grows up, he leaves to live his life and returns with his own child, the mother, now a grandmother then sings to the newborn.

KAYDEN'S CHRISTMAS!

Hey Guys!

Hope everyone has a great christmas & what they wanted :)

Kayden ended up being sick on christmas day :( Poor baby!!

He wasn't too sure about the presents laid out from Santa, wasn't too impressed with his Mammy & Daddy for waking him up either!

So the morning started of around half 8, we woke up Kayden because we couldn't sleep any longer LOL! He wasn't too impressed, so we fed him upstair and i headed to get my camera to record him walking in..

He literally just stood there.. eventually waked up to the presents and found sweets and money HAHA!

HE opened the pressents and played with some, and i put him back to bed as he was unwell, he slept until 12.. which gave us time to get ready and head to My parents for dinner.

We sat down and opened out family presents and kayden get spoilt with footballs and chocolate!!

The rest of the family came over and we sat down for dinner and dessert and then went to open out Kris Kringle! 

Kayden went to bed at 7pm, and slept the whole night and woke at 9.30am! The day exhausted him, but he had so much fun!!

TODDLER UPDATE!!!

Hey Guys :)!!

So I haven't really done an update on Kayden, so I thought I would give it a go :)

AGE: 15months/1year & 3months

WEIGHT: Last time I weighted him, was about two weeks ago... he was 1stone and 7pounds. 

(I Think! LOL)

HEIGHT: Honestly, haven't a clue LOL, he is way too wiggly to measure, but i'll try for the next one :)

SLEEPING: Currently, not that well. I honestly don't know why he is waking up. Some nights are good, some nights are very bad! Hopefully it is just a phase!!

TEETH: 5 teeth in total, two on top & three on bottom. They seem to be taking their time...

PLAYING: He is so good playing with his toys, he'll just go and toddle of and grab a football and play catch or kick it around! 

PERSONALITY: He is one cheeky little toddler, the looks and the attitude from such a small person is unbelievable.. he's at the stage of seeing how far he can go without being told off.. and starting to ignore the word "No" but honestly he is such a happy chap, would make you smile just by looking at you. just a chatter box, will blabber on & on! 

CURRENT CLOTHING SIZE: Well, 12-18 in most clothes. but getting into 18-24, he had a narrow waist, so its so hard to get jeans to fit him. his upper body is bigger so it mostly depends on the shop!. 

I usually shop in Pennys, Tesco & H&M.. 

DIAPER SIZE: Size 4/4+ he wears pampers nappies. 

WORDS: Dad, Catch, Thanks, Eye, "Ahhh Da". Last week I asked him what was he going to call me... mam, mammy, mum... and he answered "MAAA" -_- cheeky boy! but he will not say mama even if you had chocolate.. & I know he can say it, because he says it when i'm not around! Its like he knows...

RECENT MILESTONES: Hmmm... He has recently learnt to take a few steps before kicking a ball. he is starting to copy what you say! which is cute but scary (Have to keep an eye on what I say)!! He has all his injections done, until he is in School! He knows how to turn on the iPhone, and swipe pictures on the iPad... techno baby!!! He is currently learn how to feed himself, he can put the spoon in the bowl and then to his mouth, but can't grasp getting the food on the spoon LOL. But in time he will learn :).

RELATIONSHIP AFTER A BABY!!

Hey Guys!!

It's been a while since i've blogged.. College is catching up on me again! Only three weeks left and i'm on my holidays :) YAY!

So i thought i'd do a 'Relationship After A Baby' blog..

It took a while to get Pietro to come around to the idea of this blog... and we had no idea on what questions to ask ourselves!

But here goes...

Q1. How do you think our relationship is after having Kayden?

Pietro: I don't know.. I don't think we have changed really. We still get along great, but we can get under each others skin, we are around each other nearly everyday, and we know how to annoy eachother.. We are defiantly stronger than before, like as a couple! we still have fun, like were serious.. but not serious if you get me? 

Aisling: Well, i think we have got to be closer than before.. like the process of having a baby together, that we made... we bonded over it and no-one can take that away from us (bit soppy!!) we have more fun, defiantly with a baby as wired as Kayden! keeps us on our toes.

Q2. Do you get in fights on how to raise Kayden?

Pietro: No usually we agree on most stuff.. if it came up in the conversation either one of us would agree. its hard to explain, but we have the same idea on how to raise him.

Aisling: I wouldn't say fight.. like disagreements but we rarely have them.. and if we do, it wouldn't be about Kayden :)

Q3. What's the main topic that you disagree or agree on the most?

Aisling: We usually disagree on money, like if i wanted to go shopping.. Pietro would say no, i dont need clothes etc etc LOL like i get time to go shopping.. i online shop ;) HAH!! We agree on nearly everything.. not being fake, we just don't take things to heart, which is a good thing in a relationship!!!

Pietro: I actually can't remember anything we agree or disagree on.. its so little at the time that it just slips my mind LOL!

Q4. What's the plans for the future?

Aisling: Moving out of my parents house... probably wont happen anytime soon, but it will eventually! finish college, (Year and a half left!!!) maybe get more qualifications, would love to do makeup and photography! also maybe set up a little job in photography.

Pietro: Also move out.. maybe get a better job, one that will allow me to spend more time with kayden and that had good pay.. more money is always good!! LOL

I've ran out of questions :( .. if anyone wants to ask any questions on anything at all, comment below :)

But yeah, that's us!

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!

Hey Guys!

SEVEN WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

Yay!

I'm so excited, I love christmas!

Especially since Kayden is here now, I've something to look forward to! Even though he still doesn't understand just yet what christmas or santa is all about but it is still an exciting time!

This year, Santa is being told 'early' of what Kayden would like!! LOL

'He' has come prepared this year in getting Kayden's presents early!

In the other hand, christmas shopping has started!

I like to be prepared and not be completely broke at christmas so I'm spacing everything out and getting everyone decent presents! LOL

Kayden also has some presents to get, he's a little bit young to pick them out just yet, but we will think of a way to have Kayden pick and choose, to have his own little touch!

Last year was Kayden's First Christmas... and he slept all the way through it! 

So this year he will be more awake and running around the christmas tree, pulling things down and knocking things over! EXCITING!!

But hey! that's the fun with having a toddler! :)

I think i'm more exciting of taking them Christmas picture, with Kayden all dressed up. And of course of us. Myself, Pietro & Kayden!

Baby's First Shoes!!

Hey Guys!

As most of you know, Kayden has been walking for about a month or two now.
(I wouldn't say walking... mostly running!!!)

I've been putting off getting him 'Proper' shoes for a while, as i just couldn't bring myself to spend that much on shoes that will only last him like 6-8weeks!!
He does wear shoes, But mostly Vans or Converse.. Which are the ones i usually wear LOL!

Now I know Vans and Converse are pricey too, but I seriously love the style! especially on Kayden! He looks like such a cool dude!

So, On Thursday, I decided he needed to get proper shoes.
Pietro & I headed to Kildare village. (an outlet shopping village)


We headed to clarks. Firstly we looked at the shoes (my opinion, there wasn't much there for boys)
Then, we got his feet measured.....
He is a 4 1/2 on one foot, and 5 on the other.
He did make strange the the woman, but i think it was just because she was touching his feet.. he has sensitive feet just like him mommy :)!

we were told to go for the 5, but honestly there were just huge on him, easy able to slip off so i went to get some 4 1/2 shoes, and they fit nicely!!
It was hard to pick a style, as he would be wearing them every day to get good use out of them!

The only bad thing was they were mostly browns and blues, where as the girls had so much more colours! (Grrr!!)
Now in saying that, i did like a few.. but I just didn't know if they would 'Go' with his clothes, like would they clash? or would they suit his style.


Finally we decided on a pair, they are very cute on him & kayden seemed happy walking around in them..

He had a little walk around in the newbridge shopping centre, I brought them harnesses for babies. They sound horrible, but personally they are a life-saver! Kayden tends to run everywhere now so it came in handy just so he wouldn't run off.
Everyone has their own opinion on them!

He is in his Pjs, so please don't mind that LOL, we had a Lazy Day yesterday as the weather was just terrible!

Unfortunately, we didn't get the first shoe photograph :( they don't do them in Kildare village!
I was upset about that but I'll take pictures with my canon one day just to have the memory :)!

He's been wearing them since and they seem fine, i think he has broken them in already which is good!
It's just a shame they will only last 6-8weeks!

Review & Weaning Off Formula.

Hey Guys!

So in my last blog I mentioned I purchased Amber Beads for Kayden.

It's been about about a week or that!

Well, first of all, I'm actually loving them on Kayden. He looks Super Cute! he has that surfer baby going on!! LOL!

I'm not sure if I have noticed a big different in his teething, he still isn't sleeping through the night!

But during the day he is much happier and full of life when he is wearing them, he teeth are still annoying him, poor baby! 

But the good thing is that I haven't been used pain killers until night-time!

His tooth has broken through fully, I haven't noticed the other tooth as he wont let me near his mouth to check, thats usually when i know he is teething. he will eat fine but as soon as you put your finger to his mouth, he wont let you!

But yeah, So far so good!! I'm loving the style and i'd say i will actually know if they are helping or not :)

So, Myself & Pietro have decided that it's time to wean Kayden off formula fully. He loves his bottles, and his formula but he also gets full fat cows milk as well and i've noticed he will drink it better at night.

We have one tub of formula left and its nearly empty so thats when we are going to stop, we are not stopping cold-turkey.

We have been weaning him off for a few months now, we started weaning when he turned one.

First we started taking a scoop of formula out of the actually bottle so say it was 8oz water, we would put 7 scoops of formula... and so on...

Right now we are at 8oz water and only one scoop. sometimes more if i feel like he needs it.

So right now he only gets his bottles at night time. currently two bottles and he usually drinks one during his sleep (Dream Feed).

He gets juice, water and milk during the day.

Its going great so far.

When he is completely weaned i want him to be started on almond milk, i've heard good things about this milk for toddlers so hopefully it agrees with him and it goes well!!

Sick Baby & Intro To Amber Beads!

Hey Guys!

Sorry haven't been able to blog in a while. Kayden was teething and has been a hectic week between college and a sick baby!

Kayden currently has four teeth. Two on bottom and two on top. 

In all fairness to him, he didn't struggle with the first four. he literally didn't have a good night sleep and BAM.. two teeth broken through, and the same for the next two!!

He then had a break from teething for a good few months!

But the last month has been tough for him!! he had an infected eye and was on antibiotic, literally came on over night. i didn't put it down to teething at all because he was sleeping all night!

Then for the past two weeks, he hasn't been sleeping all night. I put it down to his teeth But they just seemed like they weren't coming up!!

But, one night (the night i was out in Athlone for my birthday) he didnt sleep at all, screaming with pain!!

So went to the doctor and he had an ear infection :( !!

Another dose of antibiotic! 

then all of a sudden a tooth broke through (HURRAY!) 

I've been checking every day for the other tooth and today i think i found it but its just about to break through the gums :(

Now, with that in mind. i've heard a lot about "Amber Beads" 

so of course i did my research as every momma does.

To my surprise it had good feedback.

But of course it had the bad things... chocking, breaking etc etc.

I ordered them anyway, it took two days.

the only bad thing in ordering them was that i thought they were all girly!! i couldnt find a boy one. so i ordered the "mixed"

To my surprise it actually fitted good, it was long enough to tuck under his t-shirt. but short enough that he couldn't get it into his mouth, and he barely noticed it all day (which is a bonus!!!) 

I take them off for naps and bedtime, and i've told my family if they see him fiddling with them to tuck them under his t-shirt and distract him with something else LOL!

The amber beads are meant to release some sort of remedy that helps with teething and the bad things with teething such as red cheeks, infections, bad nappies, rashes etc.

Usually he would get cranky and moody and i would notice a lot of chewing, but today, he was a little moody but wasn't chewing on much and i didnt have to give him calpol or any other pain killers.

So, its good so far, but I'll give a proper review in a week or so!!

College this week has been a disaster lol! 

Back to being behind but i know a good week while make me catch up again!

New brief is that we have to design a T-shirt, but haven't been in all week so il find out tomorrow what i've missed. Uh-Oh lol!
